The Ford government replaced city of Toronto wording stating that developments “will secure” a certain amount of affordable housing before calling the Ontario election.
The $975 million deal includes $325 million apiece from city hall, the province and the federal government, plus an extra $200 million from the feds to match previous city and provincial dollars.
The plan would see sixplexes allowed as a right, a move welcomed by Scarborough North Councillor Jamaal Myers as a way to ‘densify gently and over time.’
