GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A major traffic disruption is on the horizon for drivers heading along northbound US-131 into downtown Grand Rapids. The Michigan Department of Transportation plans to close the on-ramps from 44th Street and 36th Street to northbound US-131 around 5 p.m. Sunday. GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Northbound US-131 at 28th Street is open Thursday morning. The freeway between 28th Street and Burton has been closed for several weeks as crews invest millions of dollars to improve bridges over Plaster Creek. Work also includes concrete joint repairs on US-131 from 28th Street to Pearl Street. Drivers need to prepare for work to now flip to the southbound lanes of US-131. Thousands of people will descend on downtown Grand Rapids over the weekend for the Amway River Bank Run. 

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Heads-up for drivers on the northeast side of Grand Rapids: A major section of Fuller Avenue is closed for a week. The stretch of Fuller between Michigan Street and the I-196 corridor closed Friday morning. It is scheduled to remain until 5 p.m. Friday, June 14. Crews will be working on sanitary sewer repairs in the stretch of roadway.
