Many homes and businesses in part of Kent remain without water as supply chaos enters a third day but a “fountain of water” is not another burst main.

A police incident led to traffic being held and long queues on the motorway in both directions.

Marshals are once again patrolling town centres over the school holidays to deter troublemakers.

Much of the county’s coastal areas have been put on flooding alert by the Environment Agency.
