I have seen what student journalism can do — it can highlight the marginalized, influence the majority and spark conversations.

The idea of creating a tip line specifically to report teachers based on the imaginary CRT curriculum in our public schools or to further derail queer representation is not just unhelpful, though — it’s harmful to our progress. 

 It is not a matter of semantics — it is a matter of being recognized as a citizen in the way in which you identify and the way in which you are treated. 

While many states are continuing to provide free meals for students, this should not be considered a zipcode luxury — people deserve food because they are human beings.

Children are not only capable of understanding the world, but it is imperative that they do — race, gender and sexuality are not new trends seeping into schools and playgrounds

The problem that most of America is facing is that these initial reservations for the vaccine are not changing, no matter how much information is gathered or myths debunked. 

First-year students tend to segregate by race, geography and socioeconomic background — a trend that, for the most part, continues throughout their remaining years.

This manages to turn critical race theory a legal concept used to explain racial disparity in law and justice into a hellish reincarnation of Jim Crow laws. 

Jefferson helped to found our country and our University, and we do not want to admit that his actions do not align with his values with which we identify.

I do not want to live in a world nor attend a university where people throw away new concepts out of comfort for old ones or abandon acknowledgement for the sake of tranquility. 

Diversity is not division. If you think that including others who are different is divisive, then it is because what is being taught was only meant for one certain group of people.

Racial equity cannot just be met with diplomacy and speeches — rather it requires a change in ideology.
