More than 50 LCMS church workers and lay leaders gathered May 28–30 for the LCMS U Campus Ministry Staff Conference. 

A Divine Service on May 24 celebrated the official recognition of altar and pulpit fellowship.

The Eaton fire is the second most destructive wildfire in California history.

No congregation or school of the LCMS has burned down, but members of many LCMS churches were affected.

On Oct. 31, 2024, the congregation of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Milwaukee, worshiped in the church sanctuary for the first time since a devastating four-alarm fire in May 2018.

The Rev. Dr. Jon S. Bruss succeeds the Rev. Dr. Lawrence R. Rast Jr., who recently retired as CTSFW president.

The gathering was intended to strengthen the partnership among the Synod and its districts.

The Aug. 18 event recognized alumni missionaries and sent first-time missionaries to the mission field. 

Delegates amend two Synod Bylaws and reject a resolution to form a task force to study moving to a four-year convention cycle.

The resolutions clarify multi-parish representation at conventions, fix various glitches in the convention Handbook and clarify Synod Bylaws.

The resolutions call for raising awareness of human trafficking, encouraging pastoral care for those who suffer from mental illness, and giving thanks for LCMS Disaster Response’s faithful work.

The services were held on the two seminary campuses, on April 24–25 and May 18 in Fort Wayne, and on April 26 in St. Louis.
