A new study says hurricanes in the Atlantic are now more than twice as likely to go from minor to major storms within 24 hours, compared to decades ago.
In the short term, rounds of rain will continue to move over eastern areas, with additional precipitation of 40 to 80 millimetres possible through Wednesday and Wednesday night.
Meteorologist Ryan Snoddon says folks across much of Nova Scotia should prepare for winter driving conditions with periods of snow Friday evening that continue right into Monday.
The storm will be rather large as it moves through Atlantic Canadian waters and some outer bands of rain and downpours may track into the Maritimes on Monday.
