Introducing Edge of Memories, a new JRPG for PC, PS5, and Xbox from Nacon and developer Midgar Studio that's being worked on by decorated team, including Chrono Trigger composer Yasunori Mitsuda, NieR lyricist Emi Evans, Xenoblade Chronicles character designer Raita Kazama, and Final Fantasy XV combat designer Mitsuru Yokoyama. It's the sequel to 2021's Edge of Eternity.

Developer Blast Zero and publisher Red Dunes Games are celebrating this month's 35th anniversary of the classic anime Samurai Pizza Cats by announcing a new video game based on the popular 1990s cartoon, called Samurai Pizza Cats: Blast From the Past. It's in development for "all major platforms."

VG Entertainment Studio has announced Forest Reigns, a new story-driven first-person shooter for PC. It's set in a post-apocalyptic Paris, where most of humanity has been wiped out and nature has reclaimed our territory. Survival crafting, a non-linear story, and a forest that can serve as both friend and foe in any given situation all combine to try and set Forest Reigns apart.

Netmarble has released a new gameplay trailer for Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, the upcoming action-adventure RPG for iOS, Android, and Windows PC (via Windows Launcher). A closed beta test will also be happening from January 16-22 in the U.S., Canada, and select parts of Europe.

Split Fiction is a sci-fi, future-set game in which aspiring writers Mio and Zoe – named, Fares tells me, after his two daughters – visit Rader Publishing, a company that can bring a writer’s story to life in a sort of Star Trek holodeck kind of way. The women don’t know each other, and through a tech glitch suffered on account of the publisher trying to steal their ideas, their stories end up literally overlapping each other. That means Zoe gets thrown into Mio’s dark and gritty sci-fi world, and the pair are involuntarily thrown back and forth between that place and Zoe’s spells-and-sorcery woodland fantasy realm.
