Due to our country’s ageing population, Australian geriatricians are bracing for a ‘tidal wave of Alzheimer’s diagnosis.’ As our population ages, scientists around the world are making massive leaps and bounds in studying Alzheimer’s, with the hopes of finding better ways to manage, prevent and cure this debilitating disease.

In 1902, Australia became the first nation on earth to enact equal suffrage, enabling (white) women to both vote and stand for election alongside men. This would not have been possible without the hard work of the brave women involved in the women’s suffrage movement, who called for the right of women to vote to be enshrined in the nation’s constitution.
