The Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research at MIT, a National Cancer
Institute-designated cancer center, has announced that Tyler Jacks will step
down from his role as director, pending selection of his successor.
As the original twin towers of the World Trade Center rose out of Manhattan’s
Financial District, a second set of twin towers had climbed into the sky 15
miles up the Hudson River, casting its own shadow over North Riverdale.
The Bloomsbury circle may have famously lived in squares and loved in triangles,

Likhitha Kolla is this year’s recipient of William & Mary’s Thomas Jefferson
Prize in Natural Philosophy. The award is endowed by the trustees of the Thomas
Jefferson Memorial Foundation to recognize excellence in the sciences and
mathematics in an undergraduate student.
