When it comes to losing weight, or attempting to at least, most people will know that it boils down to one thing: calories in versus calories out. Ghostbuster's Star Ernie Hudson Is 78. Here's How to Build Muscle a...

Pardon our French but ageing is a bastard. Stiff joints, crows feet and that little noise you make as you get up off the sofa combine to make getting old feel like an endless downwards slope. Ageing is also inevitable. But try telling this to 78-year-old Ernie Hudson, star of this year’s Hollywood blockbuster movie, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. Yes, you heard it right. Hudson is almost 80, and recent pictures taken from the London premiere show that he’s giving Paul Rudd – the man who simply ref…

Vinnie Jones Wants You To Be an Eagle

‘Do you want to be an eagle or a crow?’ asks Jones. It’s only after an awkward few seconds of silence that I release it’s not a rhetorical question. Unfamiliar with the fable, I ask him what he means. ‘Sometimes you got to be like an eagle,’ he says. ’The only thing that can have a go at an eagle is a crow. A crow will peck, peck and peck at the eagle. But the eagle’s wings are wide enough and broad enough that it can soar to heights the crow’s unable to reach. So, as long as you set your sights…

But that could be about to change through a new £42m project called ‘Transform’, which experts are hailing as a ‘pivotal moment in the history of prostate cancer research.’ Previous trials that used prostate-specific antigen (PSA) blood tests to screen for the disease showed the method prevented between 8% and 20% of deaths, depending on screening regularity, acc…

At-Home Saliva Test Could Turn Tide on Prostate Cancer, Says Study

12,000. That’s how many men die each year from prostate cancer, according to Prostate Cancer UK.Despite this alarming figure and the fact that prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men, with over 52,000 diagnoses annually, the UK does not have a national screening program. This is because current blood tests are not considered accurate enough and can detect non-life-threatening forms of the disease rather than aggressive types. However, researchers believe a new at-home test could identify…

Gonorrhoea Cases Hit Record High in England, New Report Shows

According to annual UK health figures, England saw a record number of gonorrhoea diagnoses last year, with cases rising 7.5% from 79,266 in 2022 to 85,223 in 2023. Syphilis cases also increased by 9.4%, from 8,692 to 9,513 – the highest number since 1948.Overall, sexually transmitted infection diagnoses rose by 4.7%. However, this increase might be partly attributed to an 8% rise in the number of people undergoing STI screenings, which is also 4.6% higher than in 2019.The groups with the highest…
