Pallet Bar And Grill opens in Okaloosa County

There is a new player in the restaurant scene in Okaloosa County and it's a place you definitely won't be "board" with. The Pallet Restaurant and Grill recently opened in Eglin Parkway in Fort Walton Beach. The restaurant is living up to its name. The inside is furnished with tables and stools built out of pallets and even the walls are adorned with pallets. Co-owner Eric Bischoff says once they got the idea for the decor getting the pallets wasn't difficult.

A man who has spent much of his life on Florida’s death row will not be going back there. Timothy Hurst, 41, was convicted of the brutal 1998 stabbing death of Cynthia Harrison. It happened at the Popeyes restaurant on Nine Mile Road. WEAR. Harrison was stabbed 60 times and the store safe was found open. The jury that convicted Hurst voted 7-5 in favor of death, but the sentence was thrown out by a higher court because the vote for death was not unanimous.
