Police in Huntsville are investigating after five people were shot Sunday night. The shooting happened near a bar on Poplar Avenue. Two of the five victims have life-threatening injuries. Hoover residents voting Tuesday at the Hoover Met Stadium and the Finley Center are facing parking issues. The stadium complex is undergoing a paving project to the parking lot. Police in Hoover will direct traffic around the construction, and a shuttle service will be provided. The shuttles will run until 7 pm.

Firefighters in Hoover battled a blaze Thursday morning at Heatherwood Golf & Country Club in Shelby County. Police in Birmingham are investigating after an officer was injured in an early Friday morning crash. The officer’s patrol unit was hit from behind on Interstate 65 while assisting a disabled motorist, according to police. The officer was taken to the hospital to be evaluated. Investigators said the driver of the SUV was taken into custody for suspected driving under the influence. The crash remains under investigation.
