No one knows how many mountain bikers crash each year in Northwest Arkansas, but
everyone expects the number to increase as the area adds people and trail miles.
Doctors told Jordan Sauls she probably wouldn’t be able to ride a mountain bike
again after fracturing three vertebrae in a crash on the trails last year.
The Parks and Recreation Department in Bentonville is hopeful to have a “quilt
of parks” master plan by the end of the year, according to David Wright, parks
and recreation director.
The NWA Trailblazers want to build a trail that would make Northwest Arkansas
Community College more bicycle-friendly and provide an alternative crossing
under West Hudson Road.
Geese have become a problem in this Northwest Arkansas city, and as officials in
cities around the state have done, Bentonville leaders are looking at
alternatives for addressing it.
A couple of outside organizations are willing to pay the engineering and design
fees for an animal shelter, according to the Bentonville City Council and
committee members.
