Fire departments from Clark County and elsewhere in Nevada are sending dozens of firefighters to assist in battling deadly wildfires in Southern California.

The average Las Vegas homeowner’s landscape, while certainly not 100 percent fireproof, is less likely to catch fire even in the extreme hot and dry conditions because of home irrigation.

The collision occurred about 7:40 p.m. Tuesday at Galleria Drive and an Interstate 11 on-ramp, according to a news release.

The homicide occurred July 31 on the 1700 block of Ingram Street after police responded to a welfare check at a residence.

It was the coldest morning in the valley since Jan. 2, 2022, more than 1,100 days.

Virgia Jackson was not reported as missing to police because the family thought she had disappeared. Her remains were found 24 years ago near Pabco and Sunset roads.

A pedestrian who police said stepped into the path of a car near an east Las Vegas intersection in early January has died.

The collision occurred about 3:36 p.m. Wednesday at Las Vegas Boulevard North and North Lamb Boulevard.

The driver of the Chrysler 300 was fleeing from a Jan. 15 traffic stop conducted by police officers at Lamb and Charleston boulevards, the Nevada Highway Patrol said.
