Ah, November! I celebrate that you’re here.

It’s said that every cloud has a silver lining. Well, I can attest that it’s true.

Mom was 101 when she died and only experienced a moderate degree of dementia.

I’m not sure that she’d remember this brief conversation we had years ago.

That’s a legacy to be proud of.

I appreciated that the archbishop, although the publisher of The Leaven, was not a micromanager.

In this issue of The Leaven, you get to peek behind the scenes to see a couple of our “village staff.”

It helps me stop and notice what I so often overlook.

November is my favorite month. It’s always been a time for celebration.

Change is hard for me.

Can the ills of our hearts and our world really be healed by stories?

So, if you remember “pagan babies” — or even if you don’t — the needs of the poor in the world are still there . . . probably even more so. There are many organizations through which people can provide monthly financial support for poor kids all over the world. Listen to your heart this week and see if you’re being called to be an adoptive parent to them.
