    Friday AM Weather

    An atmospheric river event is expected to hit the west coast this weekend with rain, Sierra snow and strong winds starting Saturday morning. Precipitation amounts will be on the lighter side with 1-3" of slushy snow above 8,000'. Expect temps to cool down as well with daytime highs peaking in the upper 50s by Sunday. Next week is looking warmer and drier leading up to Halloween.

    Wednesday AM Weather

    We're waking up to light rain and snow showers this morning. Expect showers to taper off around lunchtime with drier conditions on tap from tonight through the weekend. Speaking of tonight, it's going to get cold with overnight lows temps dipping into the mid 30s in Reno. We'll start warming up over the next few days with daytime highs back in the 70s by the weekend.

    We're going to enjoy a few more mild autumn days with sunny skies and daytime highs in the mid 70s today through Thursday. The next storm will arrive by the end of the week with a chance for showers and gusty winds. Temps will also be cooling down during that time with highs in the 50s by Monday of next week!

    Another round of showers will continue today with a chance for thunderstorms this afternoon. We'll clear up for the weekend with mostly sunny skies, light winds and daytime highs in the mid 60s in Reno. Next week is looking a little warmer with highs back in the 70s by Tuesday.

    Thursday AM Weather

    We've got rain, thunderstorms and even snow in the forecast today and tomorrow. Snow levels will start near 11,000' this morning but could drop to near 7,500' by early tomorrow. We'll remain cooler than average for a while with daytime highs in the 60s in Reno. The weekend is still on track to be mostly sunny and dry before another storm moves in early next week.

    We should enjoy mostly sunny and dry conditions today and tomorrow with the best chance for showers to the south and east of us. The next round of rain is expected to arrive by Sunday and will continue through the middle of next week. Also, next week is looking much cooler and more fall-like with daytime highs in the 60s on Tuesday and Wednesday.

    Temps are on the rise today with daytime highs in the mid 80s in Reno. A few showers will be possible this afternoon from the southern part of the Tahoe Basin and along the eastern Sierra. We have a better chance for showers in Reno by tomorrow.

    Heat and thunderstorms will return by the end of the week. Expect temps to slowly warm up a little each day, peaking in the low 100s on Friday. Thunderstorms could begin as early as Friday for parts of Mono and Mineral counties, but we have a better chance for thunderstorms in the Reno/Sparks area this weekend.

    Red Flag Warnings will be in effect today from noon until midnight because of strong winds and low humidity. Wind gusts of 30-40 mph will be possible at times which will elevate fire danger through the day. Friday is also looking windy which means fireworks displays could be impacted or delayed. We'll remain dry through the weekend and next week with temps warming to near 100 by next Wednesday.
