“Half of the people booked on failure to appear as the top charge, the leading charge, have spent more than a month in jail in pretrial detention,” Constant said, referencing DOC data.
Connecticut Children’s issued a statement suggesting protecting patients’ information and preserving the hospital’s ability to serve the region’s children were factors in the decision.
The Safe Harbor Fund, created by the legislature in 2025, is overseen by Connecticut Treasurer Erick Russell. Connecticut is the first state to launch such a fund.
While MacCormack said he’s not advocating “individuals to be violent toward people,” MacCormack said the government should put to death people who engage in gay sex.
“Since no one else seems willing to speak up, we are calling on the media, the Governor, and leaders of both parties to publicly condemn this disgusting behavior—and hold those responsible to account.”
Ghio said she has become increasingly alarmed by her observations of reviews of “critical incidents and child fatalities, some of which have garnered significant public attention and some of which have not.”
“The family followed all the rules and has done everything right. It’s the government that is not following its own rules,” said attorney Lauren Petersen.
