Pulitzer Prize-winning author Hernan Diaz will visit Tulsa in December to receive the 2025 Peggy V. Helmerich Distinguished Author Award from the Tulsa City-County Library and Tulsa Library Trust.

The Executive Director said Broken Arrow Neighbors serves about 8,000 people a year through its Client Choice Food Pantry, and Cali's Cart now provides pet food. 

"We call him Mr. Winn. Everyone knows him, so he's basically like a celebrity," said Peyton Bolte, a Jenks Sophomore.

"I just really like helping the community," said Eli Berman. Eden adds, "Even if you're a little kid, you can still make a big impact."

"A lot of people wouldn't be able to do this because of the cost. It's a major financial barrier, and so we want to overcome that and help them succeed."

"He looks forward to this toy drive every single year," said Mariah Johnston. She works with her son Elliott each year to put on the Hearts for Elliot Toy Drive.
