Modernizing the Foundation Aid formula and funding to implement new high school graduation requirements were among the top priorities discussed at a Board of Regents meeting on Monday.
The Panel for Educational Policy was slated to vote on a proposed revision to a 2009 regulation concerning student privacy, but members want the public to weigh in.
It’s the second time the Panel for Educational Policy has pushed back its vote on a contract for a computer-based version of the Specialized High School Admissions Test.
Under a looming overhaul outlined in June, students would no longer be required to pass the state’s Regents exams in order to earn a high school diploma.
“Nobody needs more money than schools and the arts,” Manhattan Council member Gale Brewer said at an event promoting partnerships between local schools and arts programs. “Those are the backbone of New York City.”
