Despite a temporary stay to a new federal COVID-19 vaccination mandate, small
construction companies are emphasizing an enticement that bigger competitors
can’t match.
The California-based contractor said issues such as high material costs,
uncertainty over public funding and labor shortages are creating a dim outlook.
More than 1,100 firms took part in the inaugural event, which focused on issues
such as women’s pay, attracting underrepresented workers and eradicating hate
from jobsites.
Associated Builders and Contractors of Florida has appointed an advisory panel
to look at multifamily safety issues and have a voice in upcoming legislative
developments related to the June condo collapse.
The condominium board at 432 Park Avenue alleged that the developers didn’t
consider the height of the residential tower when designing the building,
creating a number of problems.
The Colorado Contractors Association and six other construction trade groups
claim the city’s mandate is unconstitutional, and would result in hard-to-find
workers being fired from jobsites.
