My grandfather used to say, if you go to a bus station, and you don’t know your destination, any bus will do for you. As long as you have a plan and know your goal, you may not hit that goal, but you will at least get close. So be passionate about what you do, plan, and stay humble.

I genuinely believe that if you have a vision with a plan of action, go out and conquer regardless of what other people have to say. The biggest intuition that you have is you.

These experiences became my roots and foundation, helped me develop the skills, inner strength, and fortitude to blaze the trail forward to benefit others. My passion for developing women leaders, and mentoring and elevating those in the Black community and more, are what drives me.

Historically, businesses have provided coaches for rising executives or leaders with glaring problems. But coaching can be a transformative part of long-term people development for everyone in an organization, regardless of seniority.

You can change the world if you have the will, the imagination and the determination to make a difference.

We international students in the United States face unique challenges during job and internship search processes due to our visa restrictions and the lack of career development resources specifically tailored to our needs. There was a desperate need for an effective centralized platform.

We often assume that we are going to have to make huge, hard, terrible choices down the road that are going to be really disruptive. In truth, the far better and easier course of action is to make small, consistent changes now, which lead toward the best outcome.

I would say one must be ready and have an available time commitment. Many people think you can be on a board and have a one-hour meeting every quarter. That’s not a reality. That’s called an ineffective board member. To be an effective board member, you have to make a change and make a difference.

I really got it out of the mud, so to speak. I never had a cushy finance job or wealthy parents to provide a backdrop for my entrepreneurial endeavors. It took years of trial and failure before I finally found my niche. I think my sense of resilience and optimism came out of those struggles.

You need to love what you do and be fully submerged in architecture and design. This profession is a calling and shouldn’t be looked at as just a job. Learn about trends and the newest appliances. Subscribe to online and print resources. Be ahead of the curve in everything you do.
