The four official document requests were sent on Monday to Meta, which owns Facebook, Alphabet Inc., which owns Google, TikTok and X, formerly Twitter.
According to the Texas State Law Library, there is not an exact law pertaining to changing one's gender marker, making the process "confusing and uncertain."
"We're not clear at this point, what we are doing is calling a meeting with the Department of Justice to see if we can file a formal complaint," Rosales said.
