Holiday vacationers on Buc-ee’s break reflect on travel experience

Daphne Police are already stepping up patrols on the roads and on foot in retail centers as the shopping season is upon us.  The department also has trailered camera towers set up in high foot traffic areas.

The $61-million-dollar plant will bring with it 100 high-paying, high-quality jobs. Butting is a 250-year-old company that specializes in the manufacture of insulated stainless-steel pipes and cryogenic technology. 

A dry cold front has created a fire danger through most of the viewing area.  The National Weather Service issued a red flag fire warning for most south Alabama along with parts of Florida and Mississippi.

As Mayor Brown settles into his new position, he will lean on his experience as an executive in the IT industry to make smart business decisions and already has his sights set on a more open and prosperous Bay Minette.

Bass said it will take more than tax incentives to attract and create successful business partnerships.  One of the greatest challenges, especially where Spanish Fort Town Center is concerned is connectivity.  He’d like to offer residents better access.

Bayfront Park is already one of Daphne’s crown jewels and this addition will set it apart from any other venue in Baldwin County.  It does come with a hefty price tag.  Of the $13.5 million, the city’s share is $6.3 million with a GOMESA grant funding the rest.

Exterior work on the jail is all but complete with finishing touches and punch list items wrapping up on the inside.  With the addition of the new cell block tower, the jail will be able to handle around 400 additional inmates.

As the bridge and surrounding development become a reality, the city hopes to see much more pedestrian-driven commerce on both sides of the waterway.
