 In a time pandered as being the happiest, I find myself conflicted from the loss I have experienced.

Alan Finn, vice president of business affairs and treasurer, said an estimated $8-10 million will be spent in the Muncie community annually by hotel guests, and the hotel will bring 36,000 people to the Performing Arts Center yearly.

The Center of Peace and Conflict Studies first came up with the idea for a peace plaza in 2011.

Ball State President Geoffrey Mearns used his remarks at Ball State’s Board of Trustees meeting to address the concerns and complaints around Senate Bill (SB) 202, which was signed into law by Governor Eric Holcomb March 13. The legislation, which will become effective July 1, is intended to increase “intellectual diversity” in high education across the state.

Over the years, the center has offered a peace studies minor, conflict resolution training and grant funding.
