Rutgers Tube, which carries the F subway line under the East River between Manhattan’s East Broadway station and the York Street station in Brooklyn, was the last Metropolitan Transportation Agency under-river crossing to be rehabilitated after Superstorm Sandy hit the New York City area in 2012.
The project team was hired to build a 138/23-kV gas-insulated substation and associated infrastructure in the heart of Pittsburgh for electric utility Duquesne Light.
Built in the 1980s, the county’s light rail vehicle maintenance facility needed a complete rehabilitation. Work pits and other sections used to maintain the rail fleet were severely corroded and in a state of disrepair.

Hudson River that includes 132 giant concrete pots planted with full sized trees
that connect via walkways to each other and to an outdoor performance venue.

In spite of 2020 challenges that included shuttering non-essential construction
sites, the construction sector in New York and New Jersey completed scores of
noteworthy projects—a number of which achieved recognition as ENR New York 2021
Best Projects.
