After the rare not guilty verdict in a capital murder case, Josephy Delancy was to be released from jail on Wednesday evening.

A family member identified the victims of Monday’s shooting as North Texas rapper G$ Lil Ronnie and his 5-year-old daughter.

With his wife, the victim had in May 2013 gone out for ice cream at Southlake Town Square.

The man was shot in the Morningside neighborhood and dropped off at JPS Hospital, authorities said.

A defendant who was 16 at the time of the shooting is on trial in the killings of a 17-year-old and a 5-year-old. The younger victim had just started kindergarten.

Prosecutors argued that Carolyn Rodriguez goaded a response from officers. “She wants to be a YouTube star,” Assistant District Attorney Lloyd Whelchel told the jury.

Jason Thornburg, who confessed to the murders of five people, should be put to death, jurors decided.
