The Denver metro is among the top 20, ranking tenth overall for the number of apartment units built in 2023. This year, RentCafe estimates the metro will add 12,581 units to the existing apartment stock.
In Denver, though, only 19.1% of homes on the market are new builds. This isn’t the lowest share, but it still lags behind the national average of 31.4%.
Colorado had the eight-highest increase in summertime fatal crashes, rising 47% between 2018 and 2021. Colorado’s rate of traffic fatalities among 16-24 year olds, however, ranks 28th among U.S. states.
The cost of all crime was $27.2 billion – about $4,623 per every Coloradan. The cost has gone down since 2021, but CSI warns the current crime rate is too expensive in any case.
Denver Nuggets fans rank third in the nation for educational attainment among team followers. The Toronto Raptors have the highest, while the Dallas Mavericks have the second-highest.
Overall, Denver ranked 21st in the nation for overall risk. While it does not have relatively high traffic fatality rates compared to the other cities, it does have some of the nation’s worst rates for auto thefts and DUIs.
In the Denver metro, prices slid from a high last April consistently through December, according to the January report from the Denver Metro Association of Realtors.
