The child was stabbed in the left forearm outside on South 18th Street, just off Spruce Street. Earlier in the day, a woman was stabbed in the chest and finger near 13th and Locust.

Officers heard “several” gunshots when they responded to a 911 call reporting more than 500 juveniles gathered at Broad Street and Cecil B. Moore Avenue just after 4:30 p.m., police said.

The officers were shot after attempting to pull over a pickup truck at Cottman Avenue and Roosevelt Boulevard.

McCormick, who lost a close GOP primary race to celebrity doc Mehmet Oz last year, now has the full support of his party as he takes on Bob Casey, the longest serving Pa. Democrat in Senate history.

Ashley McLean-Gaylor, of Glenolden, was crossing Lindbergh Boulevard westbound on foot around 2:30 a.m. when she was struck by a Honda Accord traveling southbound on 84th Street, police said.

It is the second such declaration of the summer and takes effect noon Monday and continues until at least 8 p.m. Tuesday, with heat indexes of 100 to 104 degrees expected.

The victims were each shot multiple times in the head, police said.

About 10 people were present at the party in Edgewater Park, but no one else was shot, authorities said. The deaths have been declared homicides.

Victor Manue Senquiz, 29, of Philadelphia, initially fled the scene at West Allegheny Avenue and Rosehill Street but returned and was arrested, police said.

Four of the shootings involved fatalities. One of the dead had just attended a vigil for a 20-year-old man killed earlier this month in an East Mount Airy shooting, police said.
