    WV nearly 2 years behind initial schedule in electric vehicle infrastructure buildout

    Over $45 million in federal taxpayer dollars were allotted to West Virginia for building out infrastructure for electric vehicles meant to yield public health benefits while creating jobs. But the Mountain State has been a laggard for years on the federally funded plan now mired in uncertainty due to hostility from the new Trump administration toward electric vehicles. Now it’s some two years behind its original schedule. The West Virginia Department of Transportation has been planning to choose one vendor to build and maintain the first phase of the state’s electric vehicle charging stations federally funded by the 2021 Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act signed into law by President Joe Biden.
