At Data Summit's opening keynotes, John Lewis, CKO, Explanation Age LLC, Shiva Pullepu, vice president, AI and industry solutions, CrateDB, and Sami Akbay, VP, product management, insightsoftware, each examined the many new paradigms shaping the world of data, from data storytelling to real-time data unification and the way generative AI (GenAI) is transforming business intelligence (BI). 

Bharath Vasudevan, VP of product, Quest Software, led the Data Summit session, 'Getting Your Data AI-Ready,' to explore the ways in which organizations can build resilient data strategies that improve data quality, visibility, and trust while reducing development time, enhancing decision making, and fostering collaboration.

Wayne Eckerson, president, Eckerson Group, led the annual Data Summit pre-conference workshop, 'Data Democratization: How to Build a Self-Service Strategy That Empowers Business Users and Eliminates Data Bottlenecks,' discussing practical, time-tested approaches to data democratization, helping to eliminate data bottlenecks while effectively anticipating business needs. 

Zoe Steinkamp, developer advocate, InfluxData, led the annual Data Summit session, ‘Architecting for Speed and Scale,’ highlighting how Apache Iceberg brings data harmony-complemented by flexibility, scalability, and high performance-to enterprises’ structured data.

On the second day of the Data Summit 2024 conference, Beth Rudden, CEO, Bast.ai, and Lalit Ahuja, chief technology officer, GridGain Systems, Inc., explored themes surrounding modern data management challenges-including AI-driven versioning, implementing taxonomies and ontologies, going real time, and more.

At the annual Data Summit conference, Jeff Fried, director, platform strategy and innovation, InterSystems, led the session, ‘Taking Data Fabric to the Next Level,’ discussing how a mix of a data fabric architecture and GenAI can enhance data management practices, offering technological examples, real-world scenarios, as well as risks in execution.

Ranjeeta Bhattacharya, senior data scientist, BNY Mellon, and Yetkin Ozkucur, director for professional services and presales, Quest, led the annual Data Summit session, ‘Putting Generative AI to Work,’ assessing the ways in which GenAI-based enterprise applications can be set up for success based on both development and data best practices.

At the annual Data Summit conference, the session ‘Data Fabric Key Enablers,’ led by John Bagnall, senior product manager, Matillion, illustrated how ETL plays an integral role in data fabric implementation, enabling enterprises to easily and efficiently manage, integrate, and analyze data from diverse sources.
