Menlo-Atherton High School students led a protest in response to an incident last Friday in which the Atherton police arrested a Black high school student.
The Levinthal Tutorials, a creative writing program that gives undergraduates the chance to be mentored by Stegner Fellows, takes place every winter quarter. Both Stegners and Levinthals find the program enriching.
After spending winter quarter doing deep dives into social justice issues, five student-led groups will travel during spring break to do service learning.
Dutch photographer Frans Lanting and writer Chris Eckstrom kickstarted the event by sharing insights on the biodiversity and history of Monterey Bay, based on their recently published book “Bay of Life: From Wind to Whales.”
