Demand for London office space is surging as AI and technology companies compete for prime locations. This after London lettings to AI firms, such as Anthropic and Synthesia, topped 1 million square feed in the 16 months to April. Mike Wiseman, Head of Campuses at British Land, tells CNBC that access to talent, capital, and the ability to scale are among the key factors technology companies consider when choosing London as their headquarters.

Tesla beat first‑quarter earnings forecasts but missed revenue expectations. The electric vehicle maker’s CFO said the company expects to spend $25bn on its AI, robotics and autonomous vehicle businesses. That was up from a previous estimate of $20bn. Shares initially rose about 4% after the results, before paring gains as executives outlined the higher capital spending on the earnings call.
