A burn ban issued by the Alabama Forestry Commission on Sep. 22 which previously restricted all Alabama counties has been rescinded for 35 counties in the southern half of the state.

On Oct. 9 each Lowndes County school hosted the inaugural Parent Signing Day event. Superintendent Samita Jeter said the event was held in order to increase parents’ involvement with their children’s education.

The Calhoun Tigers traveled to Loachapoka on Oct. 5 where they fell to the Indians in a 39-0 loss.

Under the Friday night lights on Sep. 15, two Lowndes County high schools prevailed bringing home wins while one school fell short.
