The drinking fountain will be installed in the spring.

Police are investigating the incident, which was discovered by a city employee Monday morning, that occurred when the building was closed, said Chief Michael Cecchini.

Shannon was laid off from his former position as a business solutions professional from Michigan Works on July 1.

With all nine precincts reporting, Shannon is the winner of the race with 2,258 votes. Kathleen Newsham had 1,870 votes.

A city employee cleaned up the area as soon as staff was notified. City parks crews had been busy earlier in the day plowing and salting areas around public buildings.

Ernie Krygier, 60, is in a rehabilitation center at Bay Regional Medical Center.

The plan includes several buildings and roads. The first phase of the project is expected to include 100,000 square feet of building space with a $25 million investment. The mixed-use space will have residential, retail and restaurant space.
