SpaceXAI asks for more power — this time from TVA

Tennessee Valley Authority CEO Mike Skaggs said the change would, in his opinion, put TVA ahead of other utilities in the country in charging data centers for their costs. 

Memphis Light, Gas and Water has amended an agreement to send funds annually to the City of Memphis.

A Memphis City Council committee passed a data center pause.

Shelby County Mayor-elect Mickell Lowery said that while he doesn’t think 25 days is enough time to assemble a team, he will be deliberate on appointments. 

Private development at Liberty Park has stalled, and the City of Memphis is looking to end its contract with the joint venture managing the project.

SpaceXAI representatives met with Memphis Mayor Paul Young and MLGW President Doug McGowen earlier this week.  

The legal fight over SpaceX’s private power plant in Southaven, Mississippi, became a matter of national security on Monday, June 15.
