Deputies say Charles Singleton, 26, was arrested Thursday after a search warrant was executed at a home on Old Elloree Rd.

Crews responded to a house on Garners Ferry Rd. in Eastover at 12:20pm.

Deputies say the inmate in question was being held on a murder charge.

The seat was left vacant following the passing of Councilman Joe Taylor.

Taylor began his term on the city council in January of this year.
