Earlier this month, I saw a car stop for a cyclist on the Adirondack Rail Trail who was crossing Route 86 at Fowler’s Crossing just outside the village of Saranac Lake. A pickup truck honked at the car as it slowed down and honked again after the car stopped. Later that day, I mentioned the incident on Facebook and pointed out that (i) motorists must stop for pedestrians in a crosswalk and (ii) a cyclist walking a bike is a pedestrian.
