The first cone from the National Hurricane Center shows the system moving eastward over the very warm and untapped waters of the Gulf. It is then forecast to intensify and curve towards the northern Gulf Coast.
Friday will be nice! Highs will only warm up into the upper 80s with low humidity. Skies will be sunny all day long. Temperatures will dip into the 70s for Friday Night Football. Lows will bottom out in the low to mid 60s.
Monday will start off partly cloudy, but scattered thunderstorms will move in during the afternoon hours. A few storms could be strong to severe with gusty winds and microbursts. Highs will top out into the mid to upper 90s.
Temperatures rebound into the 90s by tomorrow afternoon. There is a chance for isolated showers and thunderstorms tomorrow due to a cold front moving through the area.
Tuesday will be mostly sunny and extremely hot. Highs are going to top out in the upper 90s, but the heat index will make it feel like 108-112°. A stray shower is possible, but most of us will stay dry.
