Nearly two years after Nicholas Sletten was murdered in St. Paul, his family is still waiting for justice.

Mack Guptil, Ben Lacy and Rebecca Waxse are running for the seat, which is chambered in Stillwater. Two of them will advance to the Nov. 3 general election.

He left the U.S. with help from ICE officials after pleading guilty to the July 2025 offense.

The judge, while noting Gregg’s three-decade-long career in law enforcement, called his offense a “violation of trust.”
