DEAR MISS LONELYHEARTS: I grocery shop in the same store at the same time every week, for a good reason. I really like this guy who’s always there every Friday after work. It seems we’re both creatures of habit and like the same foods, particularly the chocolate cookies in the baking section.

DEAR MISS LONELYHEARTS: I was a retired truth-teller — it was a habit that got me nowhere with women. I was determined to stop being blunt and start being easier to get along with, in my next relationship. I decided I’d even start telling some “little white lies” as my mother used to call them.

DEAR MISS LONELYHEARTS: I read in your column about the mother of the “27-Year-Old Teenager” who won’t leave home. I moved out at 18, after a big fight with my mother. I had to get a job right away and become strong on my own. When I needed furniture — other than packing crates and a mattress — I had to get two jobs. But I got some really nice stuff in the end, and impressed everybody.

DEAR MISS LONELYHEARTS: I’m in a strange position this Valentine’s Day. I know I’m not in love with my girlfriend, but I haven’t had the heart to tell her. The truth is I’m “in lust” with my best friend’s girlfriend. We often double-date, as we all like bars, live music and movies.

DEAR MISS LONELYHEARTS: Yesterday I accidentally kicked another woman’s boot when we mounting the last step on the bus behind her. She turned around abruptly, and gave me a little kick right back, on my big leather boot.

DEAR MISS LONELYHEARTS: This is a letter for the young guys out there, from an older guy. Buy your partner or spouse flowers randomly. It makes a huge difference.

DEAR MISS LONELYHEARTS: I’m finding it hard to stay with my girlfriend of five years, but I feel like there’s so much pressure on me to stay with her! I’m close with her family, she’s close with mine and we own a lot of things together — including a loan. We also live together in a house her parents…

DEAR MISS LONELYHEARTS: I found a little black book full of numbers and email addresses when I cleaned out my boyfriend’s car. He was in Vancouver for work. I still don’t know how current that little book is (gulp). I teased him about it, and his face went cold.
