It'll be a chilly start to the day in Touchdown Town with temperatures warming through the 50s under a sunny sky.

A hotter and dry stretch begins Monday, Lindsey says.

Temperatures remain seasonal with highs in the low 80s through Wednesday ahead of a cold front which will briefly drop high temperatures into the 60s on Thursday.

The last time Indianapolis had a high temperature in the 70s was June 14.

Today will be a Weather Impact Alert Day for this risk of strong to severe storms, heavy rain and localized flooding this afternoon into the early evening.

A few light rain showers have moved into western Indiana but most areas remain dry across central Indiana today.

Central Indiana will serve as a battleground between a high pressure zone to our north, and a wall of rain and storms that have developed to our west.

The flood watch has come to an end across the area, but we'll see ongoing river flood warnings for the next few days while we await the crests.

As we start the weekend, the threat of severe storm risk will end, but another round of heavy rainfall and flash flooding continues.

As the National Weather Service surveys storm damage from Sunday, another threat of severe weather is set to impact Indiana Wednesday.

All modes of severe weather are possible, including damaging winds, large hail and tornadoes.

A stretch of 70°+ days Friday through Sunday will end with a cold front arriving Sunday evening prompting a round of storms, some of which could be strong to severe.

A series of weak clipper systems will move through the state Tuesday, bringing rain chances in the morning and another round in the afternoon.

High temperatures top out near or above 50 degrees this week, with some spots making a run at 60 degrees.
