As part of National Manufacturers Month, tours were held to help highlight the products made and jobs available in Willmar, as well as the paths to employment available in the community.

The county is home to more than 100 bridges, each on its own inspection cycle. Recent updates in inspection methods revealed flaws in several timber bridges throughout the county.

Kandiyohi County manages miles of county ditches designed to drain water away from residential areas, while the City of Willmar continuously expands and upgrades its stormwater pipe system.

The Kandiyohi County board awarded a bid for construction of a bridge in Southwest Willmar. The bridge connects County Road 55 to County Road 5 near the Minnesota Highway 23 entrance.

Tepetonka Hospitality submitted a proposal for the leasing of county property on U.S. Highway 71. This land would be used for Tepetonka Ranch, a year-round exclusive hospitality site.

The Happy Halal goat and lamb processing operation in the Willmar Industrial Park is open after four years of planning and construction.

Solar panels were installed at several Willmar School District locations over the summer. The panels are expected to lead to more than $1 million in savings over the course of 40 years.

The conditional use permits were approved to Novel Energy Solutions for projects in rural Prinsburg and Roseland.
