A Cowboy's Prayer; you might have heard it at the rodeo, a wedding, or perhaps even a funeral. For ages, cowboys and those of similar lifestyles have found comfort and familiarity in the words of this poem. Maybe even more significant than the poem itself is the man behind it, Badger Clark.

Winner, SD saw three state championships in the 80's thanks to Harvey Naasz. For 17 years, Harvey coached his heart out for the Warriors, and in 2017, he was inducted into the South Dakota Sports Hall of Fame. Even as a child, Harvey knew coaching would impact his life.

Beginning in 2004, Doc Martin has run ten seasons over 18 years. The beloved show combines medical wit & drama to create the character Doctor Martin Ellingham in the fictional seaside village of Portwenn.

SDPB is privileged to be entrusted to tell stories about the people that make South Dakota unique. Sometimes those stories are joyful and uplifting, and other times they tell a difficult truth. This month we share the story of a man who faced an awful prognosis, and about how he managed to make it a story of joy and resilience.

Summer is just around the corner, but the learning doesn't stop there. SDPB's Education team works diligently to provide programs, resources, and events. Marcy Drew, SDPB’s Director of Education, shares about one of the most anticipated projects.
