The Archbishop Hannan Community Appeal (AHCA), as it was renamed in 2012, is the annual giving campaign of Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans beginning in September and ending in February each year. This year’s volunteer-driven fundraiser is led by Archbishop Gregory Aymond and chairs Kevin and Nancy Colomb.

Jesuit High School senior William Degenhart Jr., who served as Marine Corps Junior ROTC battalion commander, received direct appointments to not one, but three service academies: the United States Air Force Academy, the United States Military Academy at West Point and the United States Naval Academy.

When Pope Leo XIV was elected on May 8, Cabrini High School excitedly began reflecting on possible ties the city and the high school might have to the new pontiff.
