KSHB 41's Kevin Holmes paid a special "surprise" visit to Central High School Wednesday night to distribute shoes made possible through the Gift of Sole program.

Recently, I met a Kansas City man who is making the sounds on social media for reviews that are unlike anything I’ve ever seen.

Thanks to donations from KSHB 41 viewers and members of the community, youth and teens at Synergy House in Kansas City, Missouri, received free shoes.

KSHB 41's Gift of Sole program helped to distribute pairs of shoes this fall during the 34th Street Community Festival.

KSHB 41’s community impact project Gift of Sole fall fundraiser raised $24,711.85 to help buy shoes for nearly 350 children and teens in the Kansas City area in the last year.

The red carpet was out Wednesday night at Kansas City’s Union Station for a special community screening of the documentary "Sarah’s Oil."

Each quarter, kids at St. John LaLande Catholic School choose a Kansas City-area charity to help raise money for. Earlier this year, they chose KSHB 41’s Gift of Sole.
