With two more storms developing, emergency workers are rushing to prepare.

The body of a Big Island woman who went missing after the storm was identified Tuesday.

UPDATE: Tourists advised to shelter in place to avoid flooding. Water was surging in local rivers on Saturday morning as residents hunkered down.

A corrections official told the family Denise Foster died of injuries after "an incident." The Foster family says they learned Denise was attacked in her cell.

Meanwhile, Gov. Josh Green's well-financed campaign coasted to an easy win over his three little-known opponents in the Democratic primary.

The three little-known Democrats running against Green as he seeks a second term have not reported raising or spending any money on the race.

A consultant that monitors the project for the Federal Transit Administration reports the entire rail line will probably open a year later than the city planned.

While the job itself doesn't amount to much, it helped elevate four politicians who later became governors, and two others who eventually became U.S. senators.

The Honuaʻula project was delayed for years by a Big Island affordable housing scandal and then by a dispute with a neighboring land owner.

The governor also approved the new state budget, and announced he may veto measures dealing with school closures and teacher licensing.
