On Sunday, July 21, which is recognized as National Ice Cream Day, guests of Thai Chili 2 Go’s City Gate location in Gilbert only, near Queen Creek, will have a chance to win free Thai Chili 2 Go for a year. The first 25 guests in line will receive a free ice cream cup.

The local science center's HAM Shack Radio Team will contact the space station via amateur radio, allowing kids to speak with NASA Astronaut Matthew Dominick, beginning at exactly 11:24 a.m. on Saturday. Following an extensive proposal process, the Arizona Science Center was among nine total institutions selected to host the 2024 Amateur Radio on the International Space Station (ARISS) event.

This blood drive comes at a critical time, as blood supplies often diminish during the summer months.

Chuck Pablo, owner of Chuck’s Trail Riding Adventures, has owned the KOLI Equestrian Center in Chandler at Wild Horse Pass since 2004. He worked at the local facility before making it his own.

Cox was among 15 educators named by the Arizona Educational Foundation to be celebrated as part of the Arizona Teacher of the Year Awards in the fall. The awards recognize outstanding teachers and their contributions to public education. Considered the “Oscar Awards” for teachers, the educator selected will represent Arizona in the National Teacher of the Year competition.

Beyond the drag strip, the event will feature a car show with a variety of collector cars to inspire any car aficionado. There will also be a vendor’s station after the drive or during the event for drivers to take a break from the adventure under the stars.

Guerrero showcased her talent and dedication to the environment by creating a stunning work of art representing a grey-headed albatross using cardboard, paper, an egg cage and a juice bottle. The challenge has become a much anticipated summer activity for both Nini and her brother, Sam, who was one of the winners of last year’s contest. The local family said they go together to the library to research their animals and learn about their habitat and environment.

“We hear consistently that students are not ready to enter the workforce or prepared for post-secondary education. By bringing together industry, educators and students, we can work to solve problems locally so our kids are ready for life after high school,” said Chris Clark, president and CEO of the Queen Creek Chamber of Commerce, adding that they are still seeking industry professionals interested in participating.
