The choreographer’s multisensory dance performance explores the extremes of vulnerability.

This is the second year of a shorter, sensory-friendly matinee thoughtfully developed to create a welcoming experience for a specific audience.

The celebrated choreographer’s work marked her concert dance debut in Boston, creating a dialogue of movement and music.

Sexist themes and racial stereotypes have meant companies perform only excerpts of Marius Petipa’s 1898 ballet. Nissinen has adapted the work for contemporary audiences.

New York tap company Music from the Sole and Ashwini Ramaswamy, a Bharatanatyam dancer from Minneapolis, to perform at Plimpton Shattuck Black Box Theatre.
