After a slight cooldown on Wednesday, the heat cranks back up on Thursday across West Texas and southeast New Mexico.

A cooler and quieter day is ahead for Friday across West Texas and southeast New Mexico.

Temperatures will warm back into the 90s and triple digits across the region Thursday. Isolated thunderstorms are possible once again in the afternoon and evening hours with scattered strong to severe storms possible across the eastern portions of the region. Large hail and strong winds are the main threats, however, a tornado cannot be ruled out. Our next cold front will move through the region on Friday with rain chances remaining in the forecast through the weekend.
