Things quickly go south for Badgers in Puerto Vallarta

The Wisconsin softball team kicked off the 2023 season in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where they played four games in three days — losing all four.

The Badgers were unable to take care of business in the 2022 installment of the Paul Bunyan Axe game, surrendering the trophy to Minnesota for the second year in a row.

With a path to the Big Ten West title at stake, Wisconsin’s offensive incompetence, coupled with excessive mistakes, led to a 24-10 defeat in Iowa City.

After a disastrous 52-21 loss to the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Wisconsin Badgers look to rebound at home against the Illinois Fighting Illini.

In their first road game of the season, the Wisconsin Badgers will travel to face the No. 3 ranked Ohio State Buckeyes. The matchup will prove to be Wisconsin’s toughest challenge of the season, and the first real opportunity to prove themselves.

The Wisconsin Badgers were handed their first loss in just the second week of the season. Head coach Paul Chryst also made some questionable comments to reporters following the brutal loss -- especially regarding quarterback Graham Mertz.
